Get Humans Don’t Have Horns (Kindle, KU, paperback, audiobook) now, because my characters aren’t the only ones making questionable choices
From the end of September, once a month, I’ll share my writing process of Crown of Blood and Magic trilogy.
First, don’t panic. If you are a free subscriber, nothing you love is going away. You will still get weekly posts, mostly romance reviews, deep dives into tropes, and the occasional indie author how-to.
But there will be a new monthly post and other features only for paid subscribers.
If you have not started the series, begin with Humans Don’t Have Horns, Book One of Crown of Blood and Magic. If you have read it, the kindest thing you can do is leave an honest review, especially on Amazon if you purchased there. Goodreads helps too.
If you hate spoilers, please stay free and safe. That is the main reason why these posts will be behind a paywall. I will discuss my writing dilemmas, decisions and process. No word count, only the deepest processing of my writing.
These monthly posts will be open to paid subscribers + my street team.
A street team is a small group of readers who help an author spread the word around releases, post reviews and echo the author on SM and wherever they see fit. If you want to join my Street Team, DM me.
This is also a good opportunity to say how deeply grateful I am for all of you who are already paid subscribers and on my street team. Your unbelievable support gives me so much energy and and fait that my indie dream can come true.
The paid subscribers + street team will also enjoy an exclusive chat*
Come talk characters, craft, and theories. In the chat you can discuss my shares about my writing and what you would want to see in book two and three in the Crown of Blood and Magic trilogy. Your feedback matters, and I want to hear what intrigues you, which characters you love, and where you are curious. I will listen. I will also write the story I believe in. But writing is a solitary process, and I would love to have some of you amazing people in the journey with me.
Beta reader opportunities.
When the time comes, I will invite paid readers and street team for a small, trusted beta round. I keep these groups tiny and respectful, so this will be limited.
New prices.
Paid subscriptions are now more affordable. My main gall is not monetization but rather creating a group of people who share interest in the writing of the crown of blood and magic trilogy.
It used to be $7/month or $60/year.
It is now $5/month or $30/year (the lowest yearly rate Substack allows).
Founder level. No price change. Still receive a signed copy of Humans Don’t Have Horns as a thank you, but also will receive the new monthly posts, chat and will be able to become a Beta reader.
Thank you for being here, for reading romance with me, and for cheering this indie journey. If you want the behind-the-scenes ride, upgrade below. If you want to stay spoiler free and keep getting weekly reviews, you are in the right place already.
Q&A
Q: Will the weekly free posts still be there?
A: Absolutely! Your weekly romance reviews, trope deep dives, and indie author tips aren’t going anywhere.
Q: What will I get as a paid subscriber?
A: Once a month, you’ll get an exclusive post where I share my writing process for the Crown of Blood and Magic trilogy: the dilemmas, breakthroughs, and messy middle moments.
You’ll also get access to:
· Private chat for character theories and book discussions
· Opportunities to shape my next books with your feedback
· Early invites to join my small beta reader group
Q: Will these posts have spoilers?
A: Most likely, yes! That’s why they’re behind a paywall, to protect spoiler-averse readers.
Q: What if I haven’t read Humans Don’t Have Horns yet?
A: Start there! It’s Book One of the trilogy. You can grab it on Kindle, KU, paperback, or audiobook. Once you’ve finished, leave a quick review on Amazon or Goodreads – it helps more than you can imagine.
Q: What’s a “street team,” and how do I join?
A: A street team is a small group of readers who help spread the word about my books through reviews, posts, and general cheerleading on social media. If you’d like to join, just DM me.
Q: What is the difference between Paid and Founding Member?
A: Both get all perks (monthly posts, chat, beta invites). Founding Members also get a signed copy of Humans Don’t Have Horns as a thank-you for their support.
Q: Why did you lower the subscription price?
A: Because my goal isn’t just monetization, it’s creating a small, engaged group of readers who want to go deep with me as I write the rest of the trilogy.
Q: Will I be able to suggest what you write about?
A: Yes! Paid subscribers can bring me their burning questions about characters, scenes, and tropes. But, writing and the decision will be made by me.
Q: What if I don’t want to pay?
A: That’s fine! You’ll still get your weekly reviews and trope deep dives, spoiler-free. This just means you’re missing out on the behind-the-scenes ride.
Until the HEA
S. H. Schreiber 🖤
*I’m trying to figure out how I don’t cancel chat option to free subscribers in the process.
