Six months ago, I became a published author.
To celebrate, I’m doing a one-week eBook discount on Humans Don’t Have Horns
$8.99 → $1.99 📅 February 20–February 27
Humans Don’t Have Horns will still be available on Kindle Unlimited, as well as in paperback and audiobook.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so grateful for every read, share, review, and message. And I cannot wait for the birth of its second sibling: Book 2 in the Crown of Blood and Magic trilogy coming this summer.
Do we read romance for the MMC’s or the FMC’s?
For me, it depends. Sometimes I’m completely enchanted by the MMC, but sometimes it’s the FMC that gets me utterly obsessed.
The sunshine FMCs are never the ones to hook me. No. I want women who can lie, stab, and look the apocalypse straight in the eye. I want my FMCs with anxiety and trauma, and weaponize it into victory.
So here are the FMCs I’m obsessed with
Lydia Slaughter
A Gentleman Undone by Cecilia Grant
Lydia is not pretty, often unlikable, morally grey, and incredibly complex. She’s a woman with a goal and a plan to save herself. Although she initially appears cold-hearted, by the end, you realize she possesses one of the purest, kindest hearts.
Tenderness was a rat whose neck she wrung with her own hands before hurling it over the edge to rot with feelings.
Bryce Quinlan
House of Hearth and Blood, Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
The ultimate party-loving, trash-talking half-breed who hides her loyalty, grief, and sharp mind. She’ll party, she’ll mouth off, she’ll love fiercely, and when it matters, she’ll go feral for her people.
Lara
The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen
Lara is a badass heroine, torn between loyalty to her nation and sisters, the new truths she uncovers, and the mega-hot MMC, aka Aren.
This man might be a hunter.
But he was mistaken if he believed she was prey.
Jude Duarte
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Jude is so perfectly fucked up. She’s terrified, and it makes her angry as hell. She never gives up her desire to be seen and feared in a world that wants her to hide. Her humanity is both her weakness and her weapon.
I want to win. I do not want to be their equal. In my heart, I yearn to best them.
Una Hayes
The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate by Cate C. Wells
Una is not flashy. She’s not waiting to be saved. She’s endured more than most, and still manages to carry herself with pride, resilience, and heart. The way her wolf responds to Killian is primal and undeniable, but she never lets that override her dignity. I rooted for her with every breath.

Joan
Burn Down the Night by Molly O’Keefe
She’s the kind of heroine who makes you clutch your pearls and then hand her the matches. She’s angry, feral, deeply flawed, and that’s exactly why I loved her.
Shyaree
Blood Song by Hollee Mands
Shyaree proves softness isn’t weakness. She survives, she endures, and she holds power in a way that doesn’t need volume to be terrifying. She is both fierce and sweet in the most compelling way.
Manon Blackbeak
Throne of Glass, by Sara J. Mass
Fire Heart, who? To my coven, I’m taking my favorite witch of all time.
And Manon understood in that moment that there were forces greater than obedience, and discipline, and brutality. Understood that she had not been born soulless; she had not been born without a heart.
Bonus FMC – Alex Stern
I didn’t review Ninth House on the blog because, unfortunately, it’s not a romance. But Alex Stern is my newest FMC crush.
She has survival-mode, badass energy. Trauma and anxiety dictate her actions in a way that is wonderful and devastating at the same time.
Which FMC are you adding to your coven?
